Amid the nationwide debate over the teaching in schools and colleges of controversial critical race theory (CRT), former President Donald Trump weighed in by writing a column in Real Clear Politics, urging lawmakers and parents to act against what he called “toxic” and “un-American” indoctrination.

Trump sent a highly critical message against President Joe Biden, whom he blamed for the spread in schools of CRT and the set of leftist ideals that permeate forcefully into the education of American children and teens, which only serve to divide our country by race and gender at every turn, even though Biden focused his presidential campaign assuring that he will “unite the country,” the former president assures.

“In classrooms across the nation, students are being subjected to a new curriculum designed to brainwash them with the ridiculous left-wing dogma known as ‘critical race theory,’” Trump wrote in an op-ed published Friday, June 18, on RealClearPolitics. “The key fact about this twisted doctrine is that it is completely antithetical to everything that normal Americans of any color would wish to teach their children.”

Critical race theory has its basis in the Marxist ideology of class struggle, which is based on the assumption that various races live side by side in modern society, among which are the oppressors and the oppressed.

According to Marxism, the oppressed classes can only cease to be oppressed when they “recognize their enemy.” Only through violence can they free themselves from oppression.

The effort to promote CRT in early childhood education attracted national attention in April 2021 when the Department of Education proposed a rule to prioritize funding for civics and U.S. history education programs that incorporate the works of critical race theorist Ibram X. Kendi and the much-criticized New York Times Project 1619, both of which focus on the idea that America was founded and remains today a racist nation.

“Instead of helping young people discover that America is the greatest, most tolerant, and most generous nation in history, it teaches them that America is systemically evil and that the hearts of our people are full of hatred and malice,” Trump wrote. “Teaching even one child these divisive messages would verge on psychological abuse.”

“Indoctrinating generations of children with these extreme ideas is not just immoral, it is a program for national suicide,” Trump continued, holding the Biden administration accountable for implementing these measures destroying all that had been advanced in his administration for respecting traditions and stripping away theories that seek to fill hate over the foundation of national history.

On his first day as President of the United States, Joe Biden disbanded the Trump administration’s 1776 Advisory Commission, which was created precisely to “honor America’s founding principles.”

The ban on the use of training materials centered on “harmful and divisive race- and sex-based ideologies” at federal agencies and contractors imposed during the Trump administration was also lifted following Biden’s inauguration.

To combat the painful situation our young people are experiencing, Trump urged all “concerned parents in America” to demand their states to pass a ban on taxpayer money going to school districts that teach CRT.

He also suggested that each state create its own 1776 Commission to examine public school curriculum and ensure that students receive a “patriotic, pro-American education.”

Trump’s words seek to embolden citizens and state governors who are fighting against new federal policies that turn our children’s education over to the globalist left.
