Two young illegal alien members of the MS-13 gang, also known as Mara Salvatrucha, have been sentenced to 40 years in prison after being charged with murdering a 15-year-old girl in Harris County, Texas, in a satanic ritual.

MS-13 gang members Diego Hernandez Rivera, a 22-year-old illegal alien from El Salvador, and Miguel Alvarez Flores, a 26-year-old illegal alien also from El Salvador. Both pleaded guilty to murdering Genesis Cornejo, just 15, in 2017 during a satanic ritual where they said they offered her soul to San la Muerte, a profane saint who worships Death, Breitbart reported.

“This is a tragic case of a runaway girl falling into the clutches of a dangerous and violent gang,” Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said in a statement. “We will not stop in our pursuit of violent criminals who band together to terrorize communities and murder innocents.”

On Monday, both lead defendant Diego Hernandez-Rivera and his accomplice, Miguel Alvarez-Flores, admitted their guilt in the case and pleaded guilty. They were sentenced to 40 years to life in prison for the crime.

Prosecutors in the case were able to prove that the murder was in the context of a satanic ritual carried out by members of the dangerous MS-13 gang. The young woman, Génesis Cornejo, was allegedly in a relationship with a member of the gang, who reportedly gave her up as a satanic sacrifice, “probably for not having respected their shrine to death,” prosecutors said in an official statement.

MS-13 is an international criminal organization of Central American origin. In recent years, it has expanded worldwide, with large cells mainly in Europe and the United States.

With the new immigration policies of the Biden administration, human and drug trafficking has increased considerably in border areas, and MS-13 is one of the criminal organizations that has grown the most in the region, taking advantage of these spurious businesses.

One of the issues of concern to those involved in the immigration situation is that children and adolescents who enter the country illegally, especially those who enter unaccompanied by their families, a large number belong to the dangerous gangs that abound in Central America, such as the notorious MS-13.

“We are also seeing a massive increase in unaccompanied minors, many of whom are now in the 15 to 17 age category, which tells us that we are beginning to see the re-entry of MS-13 and other gang members into the country. That’s what’s happening, in real time, at the border,” Rep. Biggs said in an interview with News Max.

During the Trump administration, there was a concrete policy of eradicating gangs within the United States and enhancing efforts to prevent their entry.

Former President Trump signed an executive order in 2017 to direct the federal government to fight transnational criminal organizations, including MS-13. Attorney General Barr said in a statement at the time, “In 2017, the president directed the Department of Justice to go to war against MS-13, and that’s what we did.”

Unfortunately, with the new immigration policies and the possible massive influx of gang members, the United States is exposed to crimes like those of young Genesis Cornejo happening frequently.
