With less than 24 hours to go before the end of 2021, border officials revealed that they apprehended nearly 2 million illegal immigrants during the year attempting to enter the United States through the southern border. Even worse, estimates indicate that about half a million managed to slip through and circulate through the country.

Official reports from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) revealed that agents apprehended 1,773,674 migrants during the first 11 months of the year.

However, unofficial figures reported by a key informant to Breitbart News indicate that border agents apprehended no fewer than 1,929,000 people at the southern border. Whatever the exact number, what is certain is that it is very high.

Looking at these figures, one could conclude that the United States has a maximum-security system along its entire border, loaded with security agents who could apprehend every person who tried to enter the country illegally.

But reality shows otherwise, the immigration authorities claimed throughout the year that the globalist policies imposed by the federal government allowed the borders to be more flexible, which led to the arrival of huge waves of Latin Americans, causing a generalized collapse from one end of the border to the other.

Such was the chaos caused by implementing irresponsible policies that data reported by officials to Breitbart shows a minimum of 428,000 migrants “escaped” and today circulate freely in the United States.

The estimate is achieved by counting migrants who escape apprehension after being observed by aircraft and camera systems. Agents also use traditional fingerprint identification techniques.

The number of fugitives could even be much higher, considering that the collapse generated at the border makes it impossible to monitor remote surveillance devices adequately. Patrols in conflict zones were also reduced due to lack of personnel.

Prosecutors, governors, and sheriffs requested help from the federal government throughout the year to solve the conflict unleashed after implementing national policies. Still, the constant denial and lack of will prevented any collaboration.

Several affected states, such as Arizona, denounced the Biden administration for the unwanted effects of mass immigration but were ineffective in reversing the situation.

Considering those who managed to enter and those who were detained, it is estimated that close to 2.5 million people crossed the border illegally as a direct result of policies that encouraged millions to move with the dream of finding a better future in the United States.

Illegal immigration increased the influx of undocumented people and significantly increased the influx of illicit drugs, child trafficking, prostitution, the development of cartels, and other criminal organizations.

This week, Arizona police confirmed another dismal record after seizing a total of 1.7 million fentanyl pills at the US–Mexico border in a single operation.

Fentanyl overdoses account for thousands of deaths in the country. The DEA said it had seized more than 20 million pills and more than 15,000 pounds of powdered fentanyl this year.
