Although Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has never issued a regional mask mandate, and Florida is one of the areas that has managed to reduce COVID-19 lockdown limitations to a minimal level, one school is standing alone on a mask restriction.
According to an announcement published on the school’s page, students, teachers, employees, and guests to Clearwater High School are reminded that masks are needed on all school premises, including on school buses in Florida.
The penalty for those found breaking the regulations highlighted in the segment on “noncompliance.”
“The wearing of a face covering is a public health issue. Students who do not wear a mask when it is required (or refuse to do so), should first be reeducated on the importance of wearing a mask,” according to the advisory.
“If after reeducation occurs, they still do not comply, the student’s administrator should be contacted,” it added.
If the student’s misbehavior persists, parents will be informed, and the child will be required to turn to e-learning.
The word “reeducation” is most often associated with compulsory political brainwashing, and it was a term adopted by communist dictatorial regimes throughout history.
Leftists and authoritarians have consistently suggested that those who refuse to wear masks should be arrested and “reeducated” in government facilities.
In contemporary use, the word refers to political prisoners and ethnic minorities incarcerated in “reeducation camps” in oppressive regimes such as North Korea and China, where they are “reeducated” out of their anti-state convictions by compulsory labor and brainwashing.
Meanwhile, a group of people led by Chris Nelson has called Floridians to join them in a “Million Maskless March and Mask Burning” in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The event will be a “celebration of freedom” for those that have “faithfully endured” the Broward county’s mask mandate for a year, Nelson said.
According to Nelson, the protest billed as a non-partisan event will also include a mask burning.
He is inviting other groups to join the event, including the Nelson’s ReOpen South Florida, UnMasking America, and the Libertarian Party of Broward County.
“We have these radical communist mayors that are drunk on power because they are living under a never-ending state of emergency,” he said. When asked why he organized the march, Nelson noted that mask mandate still exists in southeast Florida and Orlando.
DeSantis has called the new round of lockdowns “insane” and completely “unacceptable.” He also promised that Florida would not be shut down again.
