According to recent reports, the administration of President Joe Biden has reportedly shut down an ongoing State Department investigation into the origins of the CCP virus, which began last year under the administration of former President Trump under the leadership of then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
The news about the cancellation of the investigation comes just as the theory that the virus was leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology is gaining traction.
When the Trump administration hinted about the possibility of the virus coming from the lab, the mainstream media, for the most part, took it as a “conspiracy theory.” Now, however, it has taken flight again and the same media that once criticized the theory are now endorsing it.
Of course, back then the mass media had the objective of targeting any initiative coming from Trump or his officials.
So much so that a Washington Post reporter admitted in an analysis piece published Friday that the mainstream media dismissed reports that the CCP Virus came from a Chinese Communist Party lab as part of an anti-Trump effort.
In this context, the Biden administration eliminates the ongoing investigation that precisely started from the premise that the virus escaped from the Wuhan lab, arguing alleged doubts about the quality of the work done, as reported by Fox News.
CNN, which had at the time condemned the Wuhan lab leak theory, reported Tuesday May 25:
“The existence of the State Department inquiry and its termination this spring by the Biden administration—neither of which has been previously reported—comes to light amid renewed interest in whether the virus could have leaked out of a Wuhan lab with links to the Chinese military. The Biden administration is also facing scrutiny of its own efforts to determine if the Chinese government was responsible for the virus.”
The investigation, which was conducted out of the State Department’s Office of Arms Verification and Control, “was an honest effort to investigate what many initially dismissed: that China’s biological weapons program may have played a larger role in the origin of the pandemic in Wuhan,” according to CNN.
A State Department spokesman told CNN that Biden officials ended the investigation because they considered the probe a waste of resources.
When Pompeo decided to pursue the investigation into the Wuhan lab leak, he did so in possession of a wealth of classified information supporting that theory.
Even before he left the State Department, Pompeo released a memo explaining that the U.S. government knew that the Chinese regime was “engaged in classified research, including experiments on laboratory animals, on behalf of the Chinese military since at least 2017” at the Wuhan biological lab.
David Asher, a former senior State Department investigator who, according to Fox News, has worked on some of the “most classified intelligence research,” revealed in March that he believes the CCP Virus pandemic began after an accidental leak in biological weapons research at the Wuhan lab.
In parallel, this past weekend, the Wall Street Journal reported that U.S. intelligence has evidence that three researchers at the Wuhan lab became ill enough with COVID-like symptoms in November 2019 that they even required hospitalization.
Clearly, there is enough evidence to at least complete an investigation into the origin of the virus in China and analyze the theory that the virus escaped from the Wuhan lab, so it is really not clear why the Biden administration would have canceled it. It is impossible not to wonder: Is the White House bowing to pressure from the Chinese regime?
