Donald Trump used his July 24 “Protect Our Elections Rally” to set targets for the 2022 midterm election, including a battle against “radical left Marxist maniacs” and taking back the country.
“My fellow Americans, our movement is the greatest in the America history [and] there has never been a movement like we have had,” he said in a video shared on Twitter.
The former president used the event hosted by Turning Point Action in Phoenix, Arizona to reflect on his time in the Oval Office. He described his civil service as a highly productive four years, and then accused the Democratic Party of illegitimately preventing him from having a second term.
“We won the most important election in 2016 [and] we did more than any other administration has ever done and we did it quickly,” he can be heard saying. “We are not going to let it be taken away from us.”
Trump is now focused on the next election in the New Year and promised to continue fighting for the people.
“The 2022 midterm is the next phase of the battle, and we will not stop there–we will keep on going until we have made America great again,” he said. “We will take back the House, we will take back the Senate, and we will take back that beautiful, gorgeous White House–and we will take back our country.”

The Republican also revisited alleged examples of election fraud in Maricopa County and his earlier calls for election integrity.
“We are gathered here in Phoenix to show our support for election integrity,” he said.
The former president criticized Democrats for moving closer to communism through massive public spending and support for Black Lives Matter and other Marxist-inspired groups.
“We are at the beginning of a communist system,” he said. “Radicals are seizing power and destroying everything we hold dear as Americans, and it is happening, and I said it was going to happen.”
He also accused Democrats of denying Americans their constitutional rights, and using the education system to confuse youth.
“They dismantled the rule of law, censor speech, take over the free press, imprison political opponents–you see that is happening all over; look at what I have been through for years–and, of course, hold fake phony elections,” he said. “We believe in patriotic education for our children, and we strongly opposed the radical indoctrination of America’s youth–we are not going to let it happen.”
Trump promised to protect all of these fundamental values, especially freedom of speech.
“We are committed to defending innocent lives, protecting our constitution and do proudly upholding the Judeo Christian values of nation’s founding,” he said. “We embrace free thought, we stand up to political correctness, we do not like political correctness, [and] we reject the intolerance of left wing cancel culture.”
“We believe in law and order, and we respect and support the men and the women of law enforcement, and–above all–we live by the words of our national motto and it will never ever change ‘In God We Trust,'” he added.
He also stressed Trump supporters have a “massive” majority and are actually “much stronger” than their Democrat counterparts.
“Unlike their agenda, our movement is not driven by the lust for control and domination of others,” he said. “Our movement is driven by a love for America and an ironclad faith in the American people. I have that faith and you have that faith.”
“We are not fighting for socialism, communism, we are not fighting for servitude,” he added. “We are fighting for God, for country, and we are fighting for freedom.”
