The National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications, John Kirby, said on December 14 that the U.S. is ready to assist against the COVID-19 pandemic if the Chinese regime requires it.

Sound of Hope journalist Li Hui reported that China’s sudden relaxation of anti-epidemic measures caused the outbreak of COVID-19 in China, leading to a serious shortage of medicine.

Although the United States has shown goodwill, Beijing is unwilling to accept the help.

On December 15, CCP Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said in a regular press conference that China can “rely on itself.”

Wang added that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has an institutional advantage and will certainly be able to overcome the peak of the pandemic.

Professor Feng Chongyi, an expert on Chinese affairs at the University of Technology Sydney, commented on why the CCP refused U.S. help.

Feng said that it’s just that Xi Jinping wants to save face, and the CCP also is worried about its reputation, so it came to such a political decision. But this kind of thinking is cruel; people can’t rely on antibodies to fight the pandemic.

Responding to the CCP’s refusal to help from the U.S., Fang, a Beijing citizen, told Sound of Hope that it was a wrong decision by the dictatorship. This decision will cause incalculable losses to the country and its people.
